Radiolokátor P-37 slouží k radiolokačnímu průzkumu a k navádění stíhacího letectva na vzdušné cíle. Radiolokátor zabezpečuje vyhledávání vzdušných cílů v rozmezí dosahu a měření souřadnic (azimut a šikmá dálka), měření azimutu zdroje aktivního rušení a měření souřadnic (včetně charakteristik) jaderného výbuchu. Je uzpůsoben ke spolupráci s výškoměrem.
Radar P-37 is designed for detection of air targets and support of air defence active assets (fighters). It detects air objects and determines their coordinates (azimuth and angular distance). It detects active jammers, determines their azimuth coordinates and it is able to determine the coordinates and parameters of nuclear explosions. It can cooperate with radar height finder.
